It was an incredible comeback, down 3-0 in game 7 against the Bruins, and it started with a simple timeout. With the Flyers being outplayed and trailing 3-0 in the first period, Laviolette called a timeout, had a talk with his team, would love to know exactly what he said, the whole time with his right index finger raised, and with that hypnotized his team into believing they could do what a lot of Flyers fans didn’t think they could do at that time, comeback, yes they came back from a 3-0 deficit in the series, but the way they were playing didn’t give you a great deal of confidence. After the timeout the Flyers outscored the Bruins 4-0, and completing on of the most incredible comebacks in sports history. This is the second example of Laviolette’s magic or hockey genius, remember he decided to dress Michael Leighton for game 5. I don’t know what the weather was like in Boston but at roughly the same time Laviolette was talking to his team, the Philly are was being hit with a thunderstorm, just a coincedence. There are a lot of images to take away from this series, but the one that will come to mind first, is Peter Laviolette standing behind the bench with his finger in ther air, talking with his team, why?, because it changed the game, and the Flyers went on to make history.
