The Phillies saw their win streak end at five games after a wild 12-10 loss to the Braves on Sunday night. When Jake Arrieta pitches Phillies fans wonder which Jake will show up the good Jake or the bad Jake. After last night you could argue there is another Jake, the ugly Jake. Arrieta’s numbers last night were ugly, 1.1 IP, 6 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 3 BB, all in the Braves’ 10 run second inning. To the Phillies credit they didn’t give up. They scored one run in the second, six runs in the third, and another in the fourth to cut it to 10-8, and suddenly we had a game again. Unfortunately the Braves would score a couple of insurance runs, one in the fifth, and another in the ninth after the Phillies cut it to 11-10 with a pair of runs in the eighth. The teams combined for 22 runs, 18 of those came between the second and fourth innings, 18 hits, and 6 home runs, 5 by the Phillies.
