It’s starting to look like the Flyers are more interested in tee times than they are in making the playoffs after a 3-2 shootout loss to the Islanders on Thursday night. The Islanders jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Brock Nelson (15), and Jordan Eberle (14). The Flyers cut it to 2-1 on Nicolas Aube-Kubel’s (3) unassisted goal. That is how the first period ended. Jakub Voracek (7) tied it 2-2 early in the second. Neither team would score in the third period, or OT, so the game went to a shootout. Brock Nelson would score the only goal in the shootout to give the Islanders the win.
Three Stars:
- B. Nelson, C Islanders: 1 G, 0 A, 1 Pt.
- J. Eberle, RW, Islanders: 1 G, 0 A, 1Pt.
- J. Voracek, RW Flyers: 1 G, 0 A, 1 Pt.
