The Monday after the NFL season ends is called Black Monday because it’s usually when coaches in the NFL are usually fired. Today was no different with two he3ad coaches being fired.
Lovie Smith, Texans – Smith was fired by the Texans shortly after their win over the Colts on Sunday. The Texans are a mess and winning against the colts on Sunday cost the Texans the #1 pick in the draft, the Bears thank former head coach lovie Smith for the #1 pick, not sure if that had anything to do with his firing, but a 3-13-1 record did. Smith is the second straight Texans head coach to be fired after one season. Smith replaced David Culley after Culley went 4-13 in one season.
2. Kliff Kingsbury, Cardinals – Kingsbury was fired on Monday after posting a 4-13 season, and just one season after signing a contract extension through the 2027 season. In for season with the Cardinals Kingsbury had a 28-37-1 record with just one playoff appearance. won’t be surprised if Kingsbury heads back to the college ranks.
